The Performance 96 gas furnace is a two stage furnace, with a variable-speed blower motor and will run in low stage up to 90% of the time. Longer, low-stage run times give you better energy efficiency, better temperature control and increased comfort. It also assures you quieter performance.

SmartEvap™ technology gives cooling condensation time to drain away to prevent rehumidification. SmartEvap can reduce humidity by up to 10%.

HUMIDITY MANAGEMENT

HYBRID HEAT® SYSTEM
Combining a Performance furnace, a Carrier heat pump and a compatible thermostat, our Hybrid Heat system automatically switches between electric and gas heating to optimize the efficiency of each fuel source. It’s a great way to help manage unpredictable utility costs.
SOUND
Our Performance™ ECM blower motor provides airflow optimized for your home’s needs to help keep operational sound to a minimum. Our two-speed inducer motor with a sealed combustion system and fully insulated cabinet means you’ll enjoy warm, winter heating that’s quieter than a conversation.*
LIMITED WARRANTY
To the original owner, our Performance™ Series condensing gas furnaces are covered by a 10-year parts and lifetime heat exchanger limited warranty upon timely registration. The parts limited warranty period is five years if not registered within 90 days of installation except in jurisdictions where warranty benefits cannot be conditioned upon registration. *Carrier manufactures gas furnaces that are among the quietest in the industry. We test our products in a sound laboratory specifically built to resemble a typical residence. Sound level recordings produced at steady state, single-stage operation (the most common operating condition), measured three feet from furnace.
